Re: Attempted Simplification of the Express - Non Traditional

Thanks RJ, I must admit, the thought of spending hours troubleshooting a "traditional" Express doesn't exactly appeal... I've got a certain degree of patience, but it wears thin fairly quickly - I just want to build it, fire it up and rock out :-) Seriously, though, I'm very interested; although it ...

Re: Attempted Simplification of the Express - Non Traditional

I've promised myself an amp build this year... You could well have an order from the land of HM The Queen before too long!

I've built several fx pedals in the past (as well as tinkering with an old Carlsbro 50 Top) - would you say that these "kits" would be suitable for a TW newbie?

Re: DIY Airbrake...

Ok, silly question time... I finally got round to looking at my box of parts to build my AB and had a quick play with the rheostat. I fastened it to the panel using a star washer and a couple of nuts, but the whole thing rotates when I turn the knob. If I hold the rheostat body in position, it's fin...

Re: DIY AIR BRAKE WITHOUT THE RHEOSTAT?

Rooster,

I saw the clamps were on backorder, but placed my order with Mouser anyway... That was Weds lunchtime (UK) and the *full* order was delivered this morning! It might be worth giving them a call...

Cheers,

Ross.

Re: DIY Airbrake...

I've just ordered the main parts from Mouser (rheostat, power resistors & fittings, switch and enclosure) - came in at around GBP 75, including delivery to the UK. My parts bin should yield some knobs, feet, sockets and fixings. All being well, the parts should be with me by the end of the week - lo...

Not sure if anyone's spotted this in the press recently, but it appears that Dr Z has taken up the mantle...

Re: DIY Airbrake...

This originally was to be an Airbrake w/out a rheostat but I found one in my parts drawer. Nice... The fan isn't hooked up yet. I'm waiting for the DC jax and if that's a noise maker I'll wire in a typical 9V connector. Just as a thought - is there any way you could use the internal voltages to dri...

Thanks Gary, The help I was after is in the post immediately before my last ;-) I've been putting off buying the parts from Mouser, due to the poor USD/GBP exchange rate, and have been looking into alternative parts/suppliers. Re: 2w Sub Miniature Express

I just got back from the CNC guy. It will be about 2 - 4 weeks before I can schedule time on the laser cutting machine and computerized brake to make the chassis. So hopefully I can start supplying a pre cut/punched chass in a few weeks. I am also calling heyboer today to inquire about having trann...

Re: DIY Airbrake...

Hey guys, Anybody knows where to get these components in europe? thank you Digi-key and Farnell both appear to be quoting US stock on the Ohmite parts... For what it's worth, I'll probably be buying my parts from Mouser - their prices are comparable, and shipping appears reasonable. Quite how much ...
