Re: Fane speakers + Bright Express
I loaded an old Hiwatt cab with two AXA's and two Medusa 150's, it sounds awesome! Phil Interesting ... that was going to be our next experiment with the 2x12 since I have an AXA in my 1x12 and another in a combo amp. We will have to check that out with a closed back panel to see if we can get equa...

Re: Fane speakers + Bright Express
Been trying to tell the Dumbell guys this too, but only a few[or one know] have tried them or use them. Just don't know what they are missing. I tried so many speakers with my Brown Note D'lite and found that I liked the Fane Axiom Alnico the best ... quite the improvement from a celestion gold in ...

Re: Another big bottle Rocket w/verb
Cool guys! I was just checking to see where those speakers ended up. I thought Ron might put them in his TR 212 for a taste test. Im sure that will happen eventually, but I think the 1x12 sold them. I was scared about letting him put them in his 2x12 because I probably wouldn't have got them back. :D

Re: Another big bottle Rocket w/verb
Hey Mike, Did one of the AXAs make it's way into this amp? Just curious. The faceplate turned out very cool! Yes ... one of them made it's way in the combo and the other in the 1x12 cab. The nice thing is that the 1x12 cab is the same width as the combo so I have been stacking them and running them...

Re: Another big bottle Rocket w/verb
I was able to coerce the amp from the owner for a fews days. Took it to band rehearsal last night so I could give it a "real" test. It handled things admirably. Pretty big band: pianist, keyboard/organ, acoustic guitar, drummer, percussionist, bass player, 4 singers, and me on electric guitar. Plug...

Re: Another big bottle Rocket w/verb
It's great to see the positive feedback on the amp. Ron did a great job building the amp and I would agree that he is now advancing into a great amp builder. I have done a lot of faceplate designs so it was nice to collaborate with him and make a custom artistic amp for myself. Nothing like a beauti...

Re: Another big bottle Rocket w/verb
The guy who I used to do the faceplates is also a guitarist so he was really happy to see his work being used for an amp. Hopefully I will get another chance to use him. It was a bit of an experiment but I think it came out nice. Has a bit of a worn feel since the etching ate away some of the edge w...

Dang ... that looks awesome. It so nice to see the faceplaces made out ... they look so much better in context on the amp as opposed to when I had it in illustrator.

PS. Here are some clips. You will have to forgive my amateur playing and mixing abilities, but here are two clips. Re: Hendo's Absinthe
I do want to say that this is one of the most amazing amps I have owned both in looks and the sound. It has been really inspiring my playing a lot lately. The les paul is being played a lot more these day as opposed to when I only had the D'lite 22/33. Props to darin for making me a piece of art in ...

Re: Can you have different plate load resistors on V1 than on V2
I did do the 100K/1.5 on both sides of V1 ... I have a tendency to use my clean a lot more than the overdrive channel and with the 220/150 on V1 I would get breakup if I turned the volume past 3. When I changed the V1 to 100Ks There was some effect to the OD channel in the sense that now it sounds m...

Re: Can you have different plate load resistors on V1 than on V2
I did the 100K/1.5K on V1 with 10uf bypass caps, and did the higher 220/150 on V2 with 4.7uf bypass caps and it sounds great to me ... although I wanted better cleans. For what I wanted it worked great. If you play overdrive all the time you might want to use the 220/150 on V1 ... if you use it on o...
