I have a couple 1965 tube Vox Pacemakers (California Vox)...twin el84 amp with a nice tone. Does anyone have any experience with these and is there any mods to make these have a little more gain at volume?
Thanks,
T. Murphy

Fisher tubes
I just received my father's old Fisher 202 stereo amp that is loaded with the original Fisher 12ax7's. They are split between Great Britan and West Germany with one being made in Holland. Anyone know who made Fisher branded tubes?

got away...
I sold Dave Roger's a 54 Tele and a 57 strat back in 1980 or so...the strat has made a couple centerfolds and gotten a lot of press through the years. Just two of the many I would like to have back.

One that got away
I traded a double cut 59 junior for a early 70's Marshall Super Lead 100 from Tony Bowels (now playing with Hank Jr.) It had been modded by Diaz and had some epoxy module made in an ice cube mold and a 5 position switch that lowered the output among other things. Best sounding Marshall I ever heard....

Bad Cat
I bought my Bad Cat from a friend who sold it too cheap ( and wanted it back ever since). It has a lot more gain than the Matchless and is very responsive. Amazing volume and tone from a 1x12. I never have to run the gain more than 1:00. I only use a chorus pedal in front of it occasionally as I nev...

front panel labels
On the project I am currently working on I am using a 3mm copper panel that is being engraved by the local trophy shop. Once the engraving is completed I plan on filling the lettering in with Sterling Silver and polishing the panel. I have used engraved plexiglass as well and painted the lettering...

Modern tone
I have a Bad Cat Hot Cat that is one of my current favorites. A lot different than my Mesa's. As far as TW inspired modern amps, the Komet is about a close as you can get in a production amp IMO.

Box Joint
They charge me around $20 per cab. Includes cutting boards to length as well. the first time I used them it took over a month as the machine was set up for 1/2 in and they hadn't used it much. Now it is a couple days for perfect no hassle box joints.

Luckily my local wood shop has a nifty multi-blade saw for cutting box joints. I just take them my wood and let them muck with it.

kauri wood
Never worked with it yet. Supposedly the same mass and feel as cherry. There can be issues with it if it is not dried correctly/enough as it comes out of the ground 100% saturated. The biggest difference in working with it once dried over other woods is is to achieve the best results sand it down to...
