Re: Warren Haynes plays some trainwrecks and other cool guitars

Very cool. Warren is one of my favs. I'd kill for one of those TWE's that Charlie has (not to mention his bursts). Glad this was shared with us. The thread on the Les Paul Forum is good reading for a Haynes fan.

Thanks.

I've heard that as a kit those are very good, however, I want to learn the nuts and bolts of it; the hows and whys, and I'd like to do a non-kit project.

Any other suggestions?

Getting into building-hopefully

Hi All; I've been wanting to learn about building amps for a long time, but wasn't sure what route to take to learn. After seeing how so many here have taken on building projects, and after seeing what Richie has done with my TWE clone, I have been inspired to try my hand at building. However, I kno...

Re: My new Express Clone

Richie very kindly named it Candice, after my wife. I figured it is appropriate, as she can go from sweet and quiet/chiming to mean and screaming as fast as I can roll the volume knob on my Les Paul. :)

My new Express Clone

Richie has just about completed it; needs the preamp tubes and then it is done and coming to me. I am beyond excited about getting this tone monster. Here's some pictures (I hope this is OK). I should be getting my Express clone in the nexy couple of weeks; I'll post some stuff too.

Re: Marshall TV cab with Express

Thanks guys. I bought it-cheap ($450). The thing is from the late 80s or early 90s (the owner couldn't remember when he bought it), and is practically mint. It has the original greenbacks that came with it, and unlike getting new ones, these are broken in. I figured if nothing else, the speakers wer...

Re: Marshall TV cab with Express

Good point Ron; thanks. It is a sealed 4x12 w/greenbacks (the better part of 20 years old), and in nice shape; just a bit taller than the other Marshall 4x12 cabs. It has the basketweave grill and the back panel is solid rather than fiberboard. It's a good deal; the speakers are probably worth as mu...

Marshall TV cab with Express

Hey All; Does anyone have any experience with the Marshall 1960TV cab? If so, what kind of tonal differences are there between the TV cab and a regular 4x12? Think one of these would work well with an Express clone? I found one near mint for a good price from the original owner. I believe this one w...

That sounds great Richie; I am more excited than ever to get that TW Express clone you're building for me. I bet it absolutely smokes.

Oh, and nice playing too. :)
