Re: 5E3 Input Jacks...
Amp is done. I built it in an old Blues Jr Cabinet (approx same size as original 5E3 cabinet). I ended up with 2 Input Jacks -- both connected 'Hot'. I may install a small toggle switch to bridge them together. Will work on that later. I also am using 12AX7's in both spots. I am totally amazed at wh...

Re: 5E3 Input Jacks...
I just received this post from a guy over at AX84 website....... I've been working on a version of the 5E3 for some time now, and considered all kinds of mods to the circuit before returning to practically a stock configuration. : : The four inputs will let you do unique things that you will lose th...

Re: 5E3 Input Jacks...
Oh, thats what the goofy wiring is all about.... So, this thing has 2 inputs--1 Bright, 1 Normal. Of each of these there is also a 'hot' and 'normal' which yields 4 input jacks. I could install a toggle switch that would select the Channel 1 (or 2) jack to one 68K, or both (parallel which would yiel...

5E3 Input Jacks...
Hi....
I am building a 5E3, which, as you know, has 4 input jacks -- 2 for each channel.
I only want to install 1 jack for each channel.
Can I simply eliminate 1 jack on each channel?

Re: Volume control not working on express clone.
You said you also replaced one of the Bright Caps?
Have you tried operating the Bright Switch?...If one of the caps is shorted it would bypass the volume control giving you full volume.....

G&L Tribute
I have a chance to pick up a 2004 G&L Tribute Legacy (non-USA) guitar for a pretty good price.
What do you guys think?
Does anyone here have/play one?

Re: Another stupid mistake on my part...
I remember my 1st amp build. I got it all together, powered it up, check voltages, etc. All was OK....
I plugged in my guitar and NOTHING. Dead quiet. I thought "crap...what did I do wrong???". I turned it around and discovered I had forgotten to put the tubes back in.

Re: Fender Super Six Reverb
Thanks for the support..... I bought one of these (new-mid 1970's) when I was in High School. Thats why this one caught my eye. I don't remember it weighing 100lbs - I guess I was stronger back then. Now I need to find a Gibson SG with P-90 pickups and I will be 'back in my day'...haha There is one ...

Fender Super Six Reverb
There is a guy nearby selling an old Fender Super Six Reverb in 'average' (his words) condition. The Super Six is 100watts, feeding 6-10" speakers. The price ($300) seems pretty good.
Should I grab it?
