Re: Check out TRM guitar cabs on eBay

Tim does great work at a great price, very fast and very accommodating to goofy requests like mine. I asked him for a custom head cab with inside dimensions of 10"W x 6"H x 8"D using 1/2" instead of 3/4", and in no time he sent me this... Re: Jim Marshall RIP

Is there any other scenario were one would mourn the death of a guy that caused permanent hearing damage in my left ear? No.

Sad day for rock.

Re: Progressive LED light - How to ?

I just got this new refrigerator that has these cool blue LEDs that start low when you open the door and get brighter after two or three seconds. Since the newness hasn't yet worn off if I need something quick out of the fridge I'll still keep the door open until the LEDS are maxed. TBH I'm struggli...

Re: Earthquake East Coast

I'm just south of DC and my house rattled pretty good. Grabbed my dog and hoofed it out of the house to see all my neighbors doing the same. Don't see that kinda thing around here.

Re: "Paint By Numbers" Amp Building

I'm 51 and I've been playing guitar since I was 13. I did a two year certificate program in EET back in the mid 80s then worked as a bench tech for about four years repairing consumer audio gear. Made a few job changes from the Computer industry to Telecom and stayed there for twenty years as life h...

Re: Shield inside of head cabinet?

I picked up some aluminum foil tape from home depot and covered the inside bottom of the head cabinet, works great as RF shielding.

Re: Time to stock up on 1x12 cabs

I specifically wanted a 2x12 vertical slant so I ordered one from Lopo. Very happy with it and would buy from them again. I didn't want the metal corners and they are happy to accommodate customer requests. The speaker grills are held in place with velcro which gives some folks heart burn but I can'...

Re: Let's See Your Rig!

Yes very nice. What is the amp? 18? Thanks guys! I'm a huge fan of the 245 and McCarty Burst is just the coolest finish option outside of private stock IMO. The amp is a home brew 36 watt mongrel I call a Phat Ass 36. This one is the pretty version I built for a friend, I kept the messy prototype f...

Re: When you just have to either go big...or go home...

We always wanted to save up for a couple of Altec Voice of the Theater cabs .... Hey I have a pair of those in my basement! With the nice oak cabinets too! LOL!! I played in a cover band back in the early 80s and most bars/clubs had those noise warning signs posted, "Prolonged exposure to loud musi...
