Re: HAD is alive and well and policing ebay....

Yeah that does make sense that a competing seller would flag somebodies auction to reduce the amount of sellers with similar items. Kind of a chickenshit tactic. I can well imagine some geeky guy hunched over his keyboard with a trembling hand, just itching to report a competitors ad. There was a g...

Re: HAD is alive and well and policing ebay....

I don't think anyone is going to argue trademark law , am pretty sure that most people *get it*, I know I do..HAD has every right to enforce what is his.. I think this is more of a "letter of the law" vs a "spirit of the law" type deal.... It's kinda like getting a speeding ticket for going 2 mph ov...

Re: HAD is alive and well and policing ebay....

Personally I was just happy to learn 2 new words....

"Cupidity" (apparently I'm a greedy bastard) and "Casuistry" (my clever but misguided reasoning)

Re: HAD is alive and well and policing ebay....

I had heard from another ebayer at the beginning of the auction to expect it....that he had been hassled by HAD himself over old Dumble knobs he was selling...yes...actual Dumble knobs... I sent an email to HAD this morning asking if he was really worried that my auction was going to in someway unde...

HAD is alive and well and policing ebay....

FYI

Maybe not new...but new to me....just had my VVT X-40 auction yanked due to referencing it as a "Dumble-style" amp....apparently coming from the man himself.

Best EL34 mod platform...?

Am intrigued by the D style Fender front end/ Marshall back end w/ el 34's idea....aside from building one from scratch, is there a preferred amp to mod for this type of thing..Marshall, Music Man?

Thanks in advance!

Re: The Dumble style amp I need....

Yeah I know of the ones on schematic heaven but not being a tech I'm not sure which one would best yield the desired result... things like "skyliner eq" etc are a little greek to me...

mostly playing a es-339 these days...also fond of a strat with lipsticks...

the idea of a modded bassman is appealing...can you point me in the direction of a schematic for the mods your talking about?

The Dumble style amp I need....

is..Larry Carlton's clean tone..that ramps up to a bit more hair...not a ton of gain, not much gain at all really....the most a compressed grind ala sonny landreth maybe... really those two sounds...no more bells or whistles... ..Aside from clones, is there a mod platform that lends itself to someth...

Mid boost / Tone Stack lift for a Princeton Reverb?

Am not a tech...just curious..recently got a mid 70's PR that I plan to mod around with...

Anyone know of preferrably non or not too invasive mods for a mid boost/fat switch and a tone stack lift?

Thanks in advance..
