So to be clear- you scaled the whole amp?
Very interesting. It sounds great!

I love my 7591 ultralinear version!! It's been my main amp for years.

Re: anyone know the KT45 output primary impedance?
It's the old debate. Sure, it'll make sound and probably not blow up anywhere from 3k to 7k (given big enough screen resistors) but I'm wondering if transformer impedance is part of what makes one of these things special. Maybe I need a special output transformer wound by experienced hands on ancien...

Re: anyone know the KT45 output primary impedance?
If you don't want to hurt Mr. Z's feelings then buy one of his amps and measure the impedances yourself! ...but I don't know of any places in the Philadelphia area that are open this late and stock Z amps! You're right though. That would be the best way. Most people are here to learn and that's wha...

anyone know the KT45 output primary impedance?
I don't wanna hurt Dr. Z's business, I'm just curious for comparison sake. Feel free to message me privately if you know but don't want to admit it.

Re: What's the mojo to the Hiwatt design?
depending on the version of Hiwatt you're referring to that triode carries signal. On the earlier ones it's a level shifted cathode follower that establishes DC bias for the PI and couples the signal to the PI. I don't know if I've ever posted here before...odd. Sorry if I'm jumping in out of turn! ...

Re: Where to get circuit board meterial?
I've built with turrets in lexan...it melts and makes a mess and the turrets pull through the plastic. It works, but not as well as garolite.
