Re: sammi + ?

I put four Sammis in a slant front Marshall type box. It is purely fantastic. IMHO I wired it to run four @ 16, two lowers on with uppers dampened and two lowers on with uppers undampened.

Re: Heavy Watter Question?

Thank You!!! Problem solved.

Can I use a 4 ohm speaker pair (two 8's) with this amp, or will that combo hurt it?

Re: Heavy Watter Question?

It is not the Firefly. I remember that it used a reverb trans from a Fender for a power trans. But thats all I can remember

Heavy Watter Question?

Hi guys and gals.....long time no speak...been outta touch.

A long time ago, a guy listed a layout for a small practice amp that used two 12ax7 s for the pre and a 12au7 for the power section. Can anyone remember what it was called?

Thanks as always....

Re: What equip do u use for recording?

OK OK...You have barraged me with so much good info that I am going to do some more homework! I hate that part, I would rather play. But since the world hasn't realized my extreme raw talent and provided me with a tech crew to rival Eddie's, I am going to have to do it myself!! I feel confident that...

Re: What equip do u use for recording?

Thanks for the reply. I would say I lean toward the metal side, although I may cross over from time to time. I really have the amps I need, ie. TW Peavey Classic 50, 1987 Plexi, and a 4 x 12 cab loaded with greenbacks. My question was ment to be more centered around how to get the sound of choice int...

What equip do u use for recording?

I am a guitar player wanting to start doing some GOOD quality recording. I have done the usual analog mic to computer stuff, but now am interested in going to a digital interface, to the computer, mix with other instruments/voice, final mix and on to CD. I have about a grand to spend but would like ...

Re: First Time Express Builder, Easy Questions

Also remember that a 12AX7 is a dual triode, meaning that it contains two separate potential gain sections. In your diagram, the first two gain stages are in V1 (12AX7). The third gain stage is in contained in the second 12AX7 tube only uses 1/2 (or one) gain stage of the two (V2). The next set of t...

Re: New TW X...no sound but dirt. Prob solved!!

Problem solved!! The answer lies on the power board. If you look closely, I had installed a 22K (Red, Red, Orange) in the bias circuit. I had WAY too much neg bias and it was effecting the power tubes ability to pass electrons to the plate. (I think). When I installed the 220K (Red, Red, Yellow), it...
