I would suspect the 160mA fuse was not the heater fuse. How's the bias?
Coupling cap from previous stage leaking?

Re: Harmony 525 preamp with parallel triodes
Look at Supro Thunderbolt schematic, practically the same amp with a few cap value differences for bass.

Re: Potentiometers with a Centertap
Other than bias circuits, tapped pots are used in some Fender eq circuits. I believe these are 70% taps.
Mark Bartel uses CT pots for the eq in his amp line.
I wish these were more available these days. It’s a PITA trying to roll your own.

Re: The Lost Art of Cable Lacing
Man, those zip ties will cut you up working inside a rack. Some cutters leave a sharp edge when shearing off the excess. -Another good thing about lacing!

Re: The Lost Art of Cable Lacing
DC plant wires are still being somewhat laced in ISP/cable hub headends. They don’t use zip ties, everything tied off using the waxy rope.

Re: Mercury Magnetics issues?
Gave up on them like a decade ago for many reasons. Not listing full specs of their products online should be a warning sign.
