New Build D-lite 22.... where to source chassis and boards?
Hi, I've been a long time reader here. I want to build a d-lite 22 and in researching sources for parts I think to most challenging parts to find will be the chassis and boards for the pre-amp and PS sections. Can someone to me where I can source these? And are there any mechanical drawings with spe...

Ceriatone #183 build questions...
Hi, I'm an infrequent poster but a frequent reader here. I've built a few amps in the past and now I want to build a 100w #183 using a Ceriatone kit as a starting point because it simplifies the parts sourcing. Anybody here have experience with Ceriatone? The quality of parts, xfmrs, etc.. and servi...

Re: General question about selling homebuilt amps
I had our local Safety guy check the UL files he has access to and he can not find a single tube amplifier listed! I've also started checking Fender and other manuals and find no UL listings. Can anyone produce documentation of a tube amp with UL Certification? Fender amps are UL listed or ...

Re: General question about selling homebuilt amps
I'm an Ex- UL Engineer. The simple answer is UL protects you if there is an incident in the field. The UL Standard requires measures that protect against fire and shock hazard, assuming you build as per the UL standard. Secondly it offers a legal defense should there be litigation. FWIW - I've seen...

Re: guess it worked
I usually just read the threads here and don't post but I want to share something that I think is relevant... Several years ago I was in Japan at Panasonic's audio factory in Osako. In the R&D division in one lab there were roughly twenty engineers grouped in pairs each with a different competing ma...

Tag used this backing too often. I hear few licks TAG's played in there. Maybe he stole them from you.
Sounds a little sterile to my ears...not squishy enough for a good D tone.

Amp volume when making critical listening judgements???
I'm curious in hearing at what volume do you guys set your amps at when making critical listening judgments, like when assessing tonal qualities after swapping out caps or other parts.
Does it need to gig volume or not?

Re: My first D'lite build is done!
Which layout did you follow? Most agree that you should have shielded cable on all four runs from the Level and Drive pots. None on the Master. Two button footswitch is pretty straight forward. You'll want to mount your power supply board for the relays between the rectifier board and the pilot lig...

My first D'lite build is done!
Hi all, I'm sort of new to the amp garage although I've lurking around for over a year and have posted a few times. Anyway... I just completed my first D'Lite 22/33 build. I fired it up last night and all is good right out of the gate. No noise, buzz or hums and it sounds great. My next step is to p...
