Norm, What value resistor did you end up using for the NFB resistor? I'm guessing that using a DR OT that you are using an 8 ohm tap?
By the way, the clips are awesome. Right up there with the best Dumble clips I've heard.

Yea, Norm...that's not to mention that you've got that laydown transformer, all your caps in the chassis...your design is just outstanding. Probably sounds better too!

6v6 Dumble Lite Amp Porn
Here's pics of my latest. Hybrid A 6v6 Dumble Lite. Its in a 15.5" x 7.5" Chassis. As I posted in another thread...this one is under-filtered. There's a cap can underneath the board. I tried to get by with a "set" mid resistor (due to space issues), but I could not. The mid pot is now located undern...

Re: Another speaker thread - 10'' speakers anybody?
LOL. I'll try to post some pics later. Its in a Beauty of a cab...built by WNC Luthier from here. I usually build my own cabs, but WNC (AKA Skip) sold me a bunch of stuff awhile back and it was in the lot. Anyway, I actually started the build before there was a Dumble lite actually posted here. I ha...

Re: Another speaker thread - 10'' speakers anybody?
I've recently built a 6v6 Dumble lite into a 1x10 cab. Tried several speakers and COULD NOT get the tone I wanted. I wasn't getting close to the sound I was after. That is, until I put a Weber California Ceramic in there. VERY nice speaker. Would love to hear the alnico version, but its too much $ f...

Re: two samples of my clone
I'm confused. If the input volume is dimed (on full)...how are you getting such clean tones out of the amps? My amp starts to turn pretty mean with input volume above 2 o'clock.

Re: Dumbleator completed
Bob, I'll check the voltages this evening and get them to you. I'm using a hammond 190-0-190. I'm thinking my voltages aren't quite as high as what's on the Dumbleator schem, but it works. I don't have a layout. I used terminal strips and didn't even really put a lot of thought into the layout befor...

Dumbleator completed
I finished up my HRM ODS, I'm guessing about 3 months ago. I've been very pleased with it. Without any doubt, it is the best overall sounding amp out of the 15 or so that I've built over the years...and some of the others sound pretty good if I do say so myself. However, I never really felt that my ...

Re: power amp distortion
Others have built 6v6 versions and gotten THE tone, but I don't think you can get there with a single-ended design. The power amp needs to be cleaner than a single ended amp can go.

Re: The Dumble "grail" tone(s)?
As for recorded grail tones....there's plenty Robben Ford discs out there, but as far as guitar tones....he did an instrumental disc called "Tiger Walk" that will give you a good idea what the ODS is about. It also varies a bit from what Carlton does on "Last Nite"

Re: Noob Question 'bout ODS
You'll have to find someone more knowledgeable than me to tell you Robben's exact/close enough schematic, but yes...it is the overdrive special. Worth $20K or more?...not to me. That's real money there. However, worth $800.00 to build you own? (mine was a lot less than $800.00) Absolutely, its a uni...

Here's a deal on one. Not completely "original" but you get the idea:

Re: Normster #1 - D-clone - New Clips
The circuit board probably would. The relays and power caps would not. If you kept the Princeton power section as is, it could probably be done. I'm not sure what impact a less filtered power section would have on the Dumble tone.
