Re: Chassis Questions
The pilot hole appears to be 3/8" or .375 on my chassis and I checked the pilot light too which is slightly smaller then 3/8". I like the IEC and if you do that then you will need to shift the fuse holder hole over for IEC cutout room. Otherwise for more originality leave the cord hole. On one of A...

Re: Chassis Questions
How big is the smaller hole? Thankssepulchre wrote:I like the IEC hole myself. And I'd make the pilot light hole the smaller of the options so, like the transformer, the user can choose and drill it out if they wish.

Re: Chassis Questions
Thanks for that. What about the pilot light and IEC hole?M Fowler wrote:Allyn did his right with his chassis leaving the PT and OT drilling up to the end user that way we can use whatever transformers we want just like Trainwreck did.

Chassis Questions
What size is the pilot light hole on the Express chassis? Would it be better to use the original size or the standard Fender pilot light size? What size is the cord hole? Would it be better to have an IEC hole? Are the transformer holes on the layout OK or should I punch pilot holes for the original...

Re: AX84 4-4-0
OK, I've got it for the 82k and 100K in the phase inverter.javascript:emoticon(':D') Now, an other question, does the output transformer will ''see'' a 8 Ohms load (if I use a 8 Ohms cabinet, with the selector set to 8 Ohms) or the transformer will see the 220 Ohms load plus/or minus the 8 Ohms cab...

Re: AX84 4-4-0
Thank you. Using the layout, I'm asking for the resistor value under C-10 not the capacitor value. That should be R23 and is either 100k or 82k. R22 and 23 feed the plates of the phase inverter. One is 100k and the other is 82k. You should be able to figure it out from there. Does that resistor (sa...

Re: AX84 4-4-0
Hello guys I'm starting a AX84 4-4-0 (mini Express Trainwreck clone). http://www.ax84.com/4-4-0/AX84_4-4-0_Studio_100216.pdf 1. - Can someone explain me the purpose of the resistor (R-13 220R/5 Watts) at the output jacks ? It is a saftey resistor to prevent damage in the event the amp is on without...

Re: Trainwreck Chassis
Just make sure, you don't offer all of them with the IEC. Some people, including me,hate those things. Bottom plates sound great. I could use some stuff for experimenting. I don't offer them with IEC holes punched but offer it free as an option to those who know to ask. Which now you do :D Brian

Re: Trainwreck Chassis
Hey, where did you get the IEC punch?? And what's your Ebay handle? Here is a link to the IEC punch. I punched several hundred 16 gauge chassis with mine but after 30 or so 12 gauge chassis it crapped out. I bought another one but don't punch 12 gauge chassis with it. My ebay handle is brianampchas...

Re: Trainwreck Chassis
I really like the budget chassis! Do you have a way to tap out a square nutsert hole? That and a bottom plate would be about all I would need for a trainwreck chassis. Actually I have an IEC punch and can easily punch the IEC hole in the standard Wreck position. Just ask next time you order and men...

Re: Trainwreck Chassis
So you like the budget chassis. Ebay sales of the 17" have been slow lately so I was considering not making any more. Looks like I might have to make a batch every now and then for you guys.KellyBass wrote:I've bought about four so far. I love them and GREAT to deal with.

Trainwreck Chassis
What would you guys like to see in a good Trainwreck chassis? I can do them in .064" 14 gauge aluminum or .08" 12 gauge aluminum. They can be made with or without mounting lips. Lips can be turned in or out. They can be alumiwelded, which is like brazing for aluminum and makes a really stiff chassis...

Re: Bud chassis spec sheet
Got the chassis and its thin but workable for lighter iron. Its slightly better than a Hammond but not nearly as good as Allyn's, rjguitar's or Turretboards.com chassis. It can be used so I will make something out of it. Which chassis did you buy? The ones made of .064 aluminum are my budget chassi...

Re: 4-4-0 [2 NEW BUILDS WITH PICS; THE 2 WATT WRECK]
Brian, I just swapped out the Heyboer for a 125C to see if I could drop the volume a bit. It seemed to work & now I'm trying to find a combination of tubes that really shine. I also ditched the shielded wire to the volume pot and did the virtual CT as per Steve (sst4270). I LOVE the amp though, it'...
