There's a local player by me that put tele pickups in a U2 and mounted a lipstick in the middle. I like it a lot.

not really
sorry
What? No pilot lights?
I like to put a switch in parallel with the light bulb so I can switch to full voltage after everything looks (and smells) okay.

Re: Warmoth Compound Fingerboard Radius?
My '82 Strat was my only guitar for 22 years, so you could say I was pretty used to a 7.25 neck. I built a Warmoth Tele last year with a the 10-16 compound neck (standard thin w/ SS6105 frets). This neck feels very similar (just a tad beefier in a good way) to my Strat compared to my LPjr or Casino....

Re: Now that we have built them.........
we will soon see.. we have 2 amps with exact same parts, well try the different taps and see which sounds best..well sounds best to my ears. Then we'll try it against a 3'd built amp that is here.. It is a bit different in transformers..the rest is the same as the others.. It will be fun to try..and...

What kind of pots did Ken typically use?
From the title, I thought this thread was going to be about a fun weekend on Gilligan's Island.

Have you got your amp finished yet?  Amp building is something I do in my spare time, so it takes about a year! Also, we have a baby due in a month and a half so I'm trying to keep the parts acquisition under the radar. In the past 2 years, I've built an 18Watt TMB and a 5E3 that still n...

Re: New Express Done...pics!
You can't solder to PEC pots...and expect them to work properly! SS doesn't take solder well at all! I use Clarostat buss clips. They go around the pot and shaft and give a lip with a hole in it to slide a buss bar through. Works great! Wait...did I just say that?! Allyn, I tried to figure ou...

Yeah, but don't forget the savings associated with reverse-engineered manufacturing equipment that is programmed with pirated software.

Aren't the PEC pots stainless steel? Did you have any trouble soldering the buss bar?

War Stories!
When I was a kid, I was using a soldering iron the had a bad cord. The cord arced to my stomach. The arc burned a hole in my shirt and left a blister next to my belly button. More scary than painful though.
