Re: power scaling vs smaller amp
Also, does anybody know where the Blonde Bassman gets most of its overdrive from when cranked? I know the Tweed Bassman and most Marshalls get the bulk of it from the PI distorting, but is that still the case with the Blonde or is there more actual power tube distortion happening here?

Re: power scaling vs smaller amp
I greatly appreciate the responses. I would also greatly appreciate it if you guys wouldn't mind taking your discussion of the merits of KOC's business practices elsewhere as I'd like to keep the thread on topic and avoid animosity. Thanks!

power scaling vs smaller amp
Working with someone on an amp build and was hoping to get some opinions on this topic. The amp in question is going to be a modified Blonde Bassman. It will be played primarily through 1X12 cabinets with Celestion-style speakers. Unlike many people who use Bassman amps for their clean headroom, I w...

#075
I've seen some intriguing descriptions of this amp on this site and was wondering how much is known about it circuitwise. Is there a schematic available, or if not, could someone please compare it to one that is? In case anyone is interested, here's what I read about it: "Steve Farris used #075 (bui...

London Power Mini-Marshmellow?
Anybody build this thing yet?
http://www.londonpower.com/catalog/prod ... ucts_id=70
Sounds interesting, and the price is certainly right.

Re: non-HRM with BM PI?
How close to the dual 100k clean sound does the "100k on V1a only" setup get? Are the cleans more Fendery or Voxy?

Re: non-HRM Findings
I was thinking the same thing, only with the 100k on CL1/2 and 220k/150k on OD1/2. It would also be interesting to see how low values in the clean section and high values in the OD section would compare with "in between" values in both. This one hasn't been revisited in awhile. Did anyone ever try ...

Re: Almost there... two more questions
However, the 250K pot is audio and the 100K is linear (in the real amps). Thus the earlier, classic EQ (w/100KL mid pot) is definitely more midrangey than the Skyliner (250KA mid pot) at a 12 o'clock setting. In addition, replacing the .05uF mirange cap with a .01uF one will cause the lower frequen...

100k/1.5k clips
Does anybody have, or could anybody please point me to, any clips of a 100k/1.5k D-style amp? I'm curious to hear the difference from the more popular "high value" circuit (I've read all of Gil's threads on the subject, but a clip as we all know is worth a thousand words). Barring a clip, is "Runnin...

Re: 100K Plate Amp (non HRM Findings): The Verdict
the earlier 80s circuit (very easy to play, good crunch with OD, and screaming leads with OD + PAB) I don't mean to derail the thread, but could you please describe what this circuit consists of? I haven't had any luck finding it on this site or any other for that matter. What I call the early 80s ...
