SVT Style power amp with twin iron
Well I thought I would bump this thread as I'm starting to tackle this beast again after a long hiatus. On my SSS build I'm using Twin iron with 4 6l6GC tubes as per twin. What component changes are there vs the 6550 SVT schematic RJ posted earlier. Also do I stay with the 12BH7 or 12AT7 driver, sug...

Re: recommendations for a "twin" in a small package ?
I've been down this road and I modified a fender champ for big clean sound with a 6l6GC for bed room level. Altough is not a reverb a pedal could fix that. Here's what I did on a silverface champ I swapped out the original speaker and put a 8" weber a 10" would be even better. The original was fartt...

I agree its strange to loose the hv and still have filaments.
I tested the choke and it ok.
I have corrected the HT fuse.
I will keep you posted.

Re: JCM 800 2204 NO SOUND
Great replies everyone and thank you!
The first thing I did was check speakers, thier good. Phew!
I do have the 1 ohm to ground and they looked ok., but I will re-check.
I'm going to open it up tonight and take some readings.
I will look at the pins closer on the tube sockets.
cheers.

Re: so how did I do?
were the tonal differences dramtic between twin iron=6l6GC vs SVT iron=6550 I'm sure you tried both iron and tube compliments wondering what you're thoughts were. These amps are loud and wondering if 2 x 6550 would tame it down with out altering the tone much. what iron, voltages, would complement a...

can you forward me a layout, I'm interested what cans you used for the amp. They look better than the traditional TW caps glues together!

FENDER TWIN REVERB BLACKFACE VOLTAGE CHART
Can anyone offer a voltage chart vs pin on a Blackface Twin conversion.
I have seen these for the Marshalls, just not Twin reverbs.
Only for ease of rerfrence.

twin biasing troubles suggestions
I am converting an 1970 twin reverb to Blackface specs, here's my problem. I put new caps in and use a light bulb in sereis to soft power up the amp which seems to work fine. Just for refrence I can check to neg bias at abot -29 volts (while insereis with bulb on) so everything appears fine. However...
