Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue - Reverb not working
Hello, I'd love a bit of advice if you can... I have a newer Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue and the reverb stopped working for a bit. I checked the cables and connections. I'm reading around 200 ohms on the input (white RCA tip-to-sleeve) and very low resistance on the output (red RCA tip-to-sleeve). ...

Re: Troubleshooting Reverb not working on 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue
I looked at the connections at the V3 socket and it looked like the wire connecting the two grids on the 12AT7 was partially broken. I replaced the scrap of wire and reflowed the connection. The problem usually comes in when I take apart the amp and put it back together. This time when I put it back...

Re: Troubleshooting Reverb not working on 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue
It looks like the reverb tanks on the reissues have an additional clip that helps absorb any stress on the wires and connections. That part is solid

Re: Troubleshooting Reverb not working on 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue
Thank you for the quick reply. I was able to slam the reverb tank and I do hear the crash, so I’m pretty sure the tank is good. I also checked the cable for continuity and it’s solid.
Per your recommendations, I think reflowing the connections on the reverb driver tube is a great idea.

Troubleshooting Reverb not working on 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue
Hi Folks. I've never had my reverb go out on me but this week, my Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue's reverb stopped working. Instead of reverb, I got hum that increased as I swept through the reverb intensity. Here are the steps I went through to try to diagnose it: Checked and reseated reverb cable con...

Re: Power Transformer Identification
Ok, well if I can do 2 6V6's then I'm thinking I could build a fender deluxe 5E3 circuit. I haven't built one of those yet

Re: Power Transformer Identification
Ok, so quick update. I decided to pull the bell cover off this transformer. Someone has been messing around here. When I pulled the bell cover off, it uncovered another code that is stamped onto the copper band that is surrounding the paper on the transformer. That code is 039044 EIA606 208 SB4. I t...

I found nothing so here goes… I have a mystery power transformer. I don’t really have any info on what amp it came from because it was a homebrew amp that ...

Filmosound 285 conversion speaker jacks
Hi. I picked up an original 50’s filmosound projector and I decided to convert it to a guitar amp. I just successfully converted a filmosound 385 and I thought this one would be similar in difficulty. I ran into an issue I don’t know how solve. The speaker jacks on speaker this amplifier are very la...

Re: Recap Job (maybe?) on Bell & Howell Filmosound 385 Amplifier
Thanks, Sluckey. Now I definitely know that it’s a light bulb variant. Do you happen to know what it is for in this circuit? Is it for the projector and not the audio section?

Re: Recap Job (maybe?) on Bell & Howell Filmosound 385 Amplifier
Hi. The conversion seems to be going well. It’s drawing a little too much current and I’m going to swap a couple more components out, but nothing seems to be running away in this amp. There’s a component in this circuit that I don’t understand what it is; it seems to be some sort of optical componen...

Re: Recap Job (maybe?) on Bell & Howell Filmosound 385 Amplifier
pin 9 is tied to the cathode, 2k2 and a 50uf bypass cap. Cut the cap and the 10M resistor going from the rca. I bet redrawing the schematic would be a useful exercise, it's pretty hard to follow as is. I think the rc network you are referring to is a local negative feedback loop. I was working on a...
