Re: 5e8a build questions
I know I'm WAY late to the party on this (what's eight years between friends?) but, yes, I have the Weber 12A15-A speakers in my Mojo 5E8-A cap and they do clear the chassis. Close but ok. This is a very nicely done build. The input jack resistors per the schematic should be 1 Meg. In the build phot...

Re: Deluxe Reverb HELP!
Posting this for anyone like the OP tussling with the DRRI or '68 CDR. Great video on how to beef up these PCB amps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4h9AUyGVBrQ&feature=youtu.be The layout and grounding of these amps were less priority than production efficiency. Re: Vibrolux Reverb?

The speakers can stand an upgrade, and that era is helped by the addition of a bias adjust tweak, or conversion from bias balance to bias adju...

Re: Vibrolux Reverb?
The answer is YES! But, pop it open first and look for hacks, bad tech work, etc. Even in pull boost Silverface spec these amps may be the best Fender ever made.

Re: Brown era Harmonic Trem; 4- vs 5-triode circuits?
I've had several brown amps over the years. The early 1960 five tube preamp 5G* center volume amps became the 6G* when the volume control was moved to the first in line, and the earliest of those retained the same circuit. Beginning roughly Nov. '60 the 6G* amps got the earlier first stages and PI c...
