Re: Relay-switched Dumbleator bypass?
Are you concerned about the effects of the unbuffered cables when you switch out the Dumbleator? I'd be tempted to build a standalone powered relay box to plug straight into the amp or be connected with really short cables. You don't need a toroid - there are plenty of small transformers suitable t...

Re: Relay-switched Dumbleator bypass?
Can you please clarify; how are you plugging the Dumbleator into multiple amps at one time? I'm not plugging it into multiple amps at one time. But like, if I'm using it with amp A, I'd like it to be footswitch-bypassable. And then, if I plug it into amp B, I'd also like it to be footswitch-bypassa...

Re: Relay-switched Dumbleator bypass?
Seems like you want to bypass the Dumbleator in the Dumbleator itself, right? Is there any specific reason why you want it there and not in your amp(s)? On the other hand, it shouldn’t be very difficult to find a very small 12v toroid en rectify and regulate the voltage. All in a package that fits ...

Relay-switched Dumbleator bypass?
I'd like to be able to bypass my Dumbleator clone using a footswitch. I would like the bypass mechanism to completely bypass the Dumbleator entirely, not just bypass the effects in the loop. I figure that this sounds like a good job for a relay circuit. I don't think there is enough room on the Dumb...

How to lift Dumbleator clone signal ground?
I'm interested in making my Dumbleator clone more ground loop-proof. As far as I understand, the fact that the signal ground is earthed makes it very prone to having ground loops when used in conjunction with an amplifier. I was planning on doing this by taking all places where the signal ground att...

Re: Speaker cab with Eminence-style speaker - Should I put in recessed handles?
Great job! Love the purple and Vox combo. Is it a closed back cab? If so, try your EV with and without the dummy speaker. You might like the "detuned" sound of just loading and running the one EV. It gives a very full and clear sound, very wide, but not harsh in the highs or too tubby in the lows (...

Re: Speaker cab with Eminence-style speaker - Should I put in recessed handles?
Nice cab! Looks like a 2z12, so probably pretty heavy with dual EVM12L like speakers. A good single rubber/plastic will take the load though: those are secured by 2 screws and two bolts with t-nuts on the inside. The handle itself is also mostly plastic covered metal. Will handles in the side impac...

Speaker cab with Eminence-style speaker - Should I put in recessed handles?
I'm tolexing and finishing a speaker cab that I plan to put a WGS12L (EVM12L clone) into, for use with a Dumble ODS clone I built. I'm pretty proud so far of my work! https://i.ibb.co/BzBbV7c/20210920-000507.jpg I'm attempting to try to figure out if I should use recessed handles on the side, which ...

Re: Good 1x12 speaker extension cab for ODS?
Thanks, all! BTW, was there ever a standard size 1x12 speaker cabinet for the Dumble ODS? I see that someone on theampgarage has previously drawn up some plans: https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28332 https://tubeamparchive.com/files/dumble_1x12_plans_119.pdf In these plans, the cab is 20"...

Good 1x12 speaker extension cab for ODS?
Last year I built a ceriatone 50 watt ODS style amp. I want to get a 1x12 extension speaker cab that I can put an EV12L style speaker into (maybe I'll get a WGS12L, I hear they are good). Does anyone know a good place I can get such a speaker cab? Ideally I'd like it completely finished and tolexed,...

Re: Recommendation for what values to start with for post-OD treble bleed mod?
I think if you play around with a low pass frequency calculator, you will be able to see what effect the original circuit has and then decide what 2 options you would like to have. Of course, once you play the amp you might want to change this more. If it were me, I would build a stock amp. Let it ...

Re: Recommendation for what values to start with for post-OD treble bleed mod?
I do not have any technical advise to offer, but I wanted to mention that I noticed you have a couple of threads for this build. I am not a mod or anyone important, but I feel compelled to mention that you might be better off having a single thread for your build and ask all of your questions relat...
