Hah, no worries - got it, thank you very much!JazzGuitarGimp wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2020 1:50 am Sorry Evan, I must be thinking of another customer. I just forwarded an email to you that explains the process for attenuating the clean channel by 10dB. Just ignore the fact that it starts off with Hi Dan.....![]()

Re: Fender HRDX to ODS Build
Small Special? I'm unfamiliar. Is there schematics and layouts and such here? There have been a number of Small Special build threads here over the years. Here are a few: https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=16916 https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=22723 https://ampgarage.co...

Re: Fender HRDX to ODS Build
[/quote] I was as well, I'm a bit confused... the tweedle dee has cleaner power supply and negative feedback on the second half of the second triode, giving it more clean headroom, mine didn't break up as much as I've heard the normal 5e3 does. (I haven't built or played one, but have heard the same...

Re: Fender HRDX to ODS Build
For the OD, I find I need to turn the Treble trimmer down, almost to zero, and boost the mid and low trimmers a little. To set the OD entrance trimmer, first set your Volume control in clean mode where it sounds good (I like mine around noon, maybe a little more). Then adjust the OD trimmer so that...

Re: Fender HRDX to ODS Build
The gain channel is very different from what I'm used to and I need to work with the trimmers to balance its EQ and relative output level. It's very aggressive and bright, which aren't bad things just different. Maybe it's the clarity and note definition being retained in the gain that hits my ear ...

I've really enjoyed seeing this come together. Congratulations on a great build. Kudos to Lou and Xtian for such a great concept and product. M Thank you kindly, I'm glad you enjoy it! Re: Fender HRDX to ODS Build
Oh, DANG! I love a finished product! How's it sounding? I'm legitimately gobsmacked at how good the clean channel sounds in particular - so musical, articulate, harmonically rich. The V30 was just what the amp had in it and it sounds pretty freakin' good with just that, haven't even tried it with a...

Re: Fender HRDX to ODS Build
I can’t believe you got any sound at all! I knew whatever was the matter had to be something, uh, not horrible, because I was definitely hearing the amp and its potential but obviously something was askew. But...IT IS NOW FINSISHED! Re: Fender HRDX to ODS Build
Hi Evan, If you hadn’t wired the efx loop jacks before you played the amp, that’s your problem. You would need to run a short jumper from the send point to the return point (like your red jumper at the standby switch connector), otherwise the preamp output is not connected to the power amp input, a...

Re: Fender HRDX to ODS Build
Tried preamp tubes first and with that load the voltages dropped to a range you'd expect, as did the power tubes when I put them in. It clean sounds really quite fantastic but it's also very quiet. Quiet like, I can dime the MV and Volume and it's a pretty casual volume level, not enough for a bar g...

Re: Fender HRDX to ODS Build
Power section corrected and cleaned up.

Input section spaced out, I think, and input jack wired up.
