Re: Marshall 50w YJM MOD
marcoloco961 the transformers in the amp on the clip are heyboer transformers. PT - HTS-5199 OT - HTS-9384 B+-1 397vdc B+-2 383vdc B+-3 301vdc B+-4 284vdc B+ 5 266vdc I've used Fender & Marshall Transformers with 6L6's & EL34's and this circuit still sounds outstanding no matter what you use. try it...

Marshall 50w YJM MOD
Strat players with Marshall’s who love Hendrix, Clapton, Blackmore & Yngwie will enjoy this amplifier design. The idea behind this design was to re-create the “recorded tone” of a dimed Marshall plexi that is using a treble booster or preamp “gain box” in the front end, close miked, run through a mi...

Re: TW turned 2ch plexi w/ JOSE MOD
Thank you for the comments guys. if any of you play 70's, 80's rock at gigs, this may be a good choice of an amp for you to try. the fx loop works very well as you can hear on the clip. I get a studio type sound live out of it and you won't tick-off the sound man by playing too loud and "you still h...

Re: TW turned 2ch plexi w/ JOSE MOD
jaysg, the diodes I've tried were 4747,4743 but the ones I like the best are 4148's, but thats just me. I know true JOSE's used zeners and you can certainly make this amp a ture jose if you like. just move ch-2 master to before the tone stack, add a .22uf cap & 10K resistor in series to the input lu...

Re: 2 ch plexi w/EVH & ACDC Tone
Hey guys, here a few really bad pic's, I don't own a great camera so its the best I can do for now. I will get the strat clips up though, this amp has very good strat tones which isn't easy with a lot of amps I've used.
thanks guys,
Dennis

Re: 2 ch plexi w/EVH & ACDC Tone
Hey Guy’s, I’ve got one clip done. I tried the loop after the tone stack but it was never as transparent as having it in the circuit here, maybe I just didn't spend enough time working with it. The master before the tone stack is for shure crunchier, but with all that gain this amp has on tap I just...

Re: TW turned 2ch plexi w/ JOSE MOD
Mark, thank you for the listening. I really did'nt want to take down the express but I just couldn't use it, it was simply to loud! since then that amp has had many different circuits in it. I found it hard to find a good fit for the 6.6K output transformer. It's still not what I think it could be b...

TW turned 2ch plexi w/ JOSE MOD
Hey Guy’s, thought this amp might be of interest. I’ve got one clip done. Here’s the run down: Stock Les Paul Standard Both master volumes are on 3 Presence on 6 Bass on 4 Mid on 5 Treble on 5 Ch-1 gain on 10 ( guitar volume rolled down for semi clean Ch-2 gain on 5 ( lead tone diodes switched to on...

JOSE MOD ( diode's on master volume
diode clippers in balance with the right amount of gain is what we've been hearing for a very long time. putting a good sounding overdriver pedal ( w/ diode clippers in it ) in front of the preamp or using the right balance of diode's in the amp circuit is about the same thing. Jose Arredondo and ma...

Re: 2 ch plexi w/EVH & ACDC Tone
I used a JJ 12ax7 for the loop adjusted for unity gain & flat responce. the relay's are Axicom 12vdc (like in the Dumble's) powered by a Radio Shack transformer. The JOSE Mod is 2 1n4747 or 1n4743 zenner diode's ( could use 4148's as well) across the ch-2 master switched to ground. It adds a small a...

2 ch plexi w/EVH & ACDC Tone
Decided it was time to convert my express clone into something I could use at gigs. This amp really works well for what I play & I have control over the volume without any tone or sustain lose. I do play loud but nothing like an Express cranked up. With a Les Paul & one 2x12 cab w/ g12-30's it will ...
