Re: Using Dual Showman Reverb head for a Tweed clone
Thanks for your comments. My 8R speaker should suit the Fender 4R OT when using just two 6l6's I'm keeping the head and will use it for trials with other Fender and other amp circuits. The Fender 5D8 schematic is a first lower power approach, changing to cathode biasing the 6l6's and using a parapha...

Using Dual Showman Reverb head for a Tweed clone
Deciding I no longer need the 100W of four 6l6's and no longer want the tremolo and reverb I'm considering using the chassis, transformers, choke etc and two of the 6L6GC's in a simpler amp for home use only. My only speaker cab now, however, has one 15W Alnico Blue so output will usually be through...

Re: SE and PP amp circuits sharing reservoir capacitance
The signals should be in phase - all jacks are isolated from the chassis to which the circuit is grounded at one input.

Re: SE and PP amp circuits sharing reservoir capacitance
I'll be using separate output transformers and output jacks, bleeder resistors in each filter chain. I'd heard that using a diode may help in less interaction when both chains are in use... The plan is to utilise the tone of the overdriven PP section feeding into my Palmer PDI-03 then into the SE am...

SE and PP amp circuits sharing reservoir capacitance
I intend to run a SE amp and a PP amp in the same chassis using a Fender Dual Showman power transformer.
Is it worth installing a diode in each power supply filter string as they branch from the reservoir ( both amps will be in use together)

6v6 maximum safe plate and screen voltage
Is 460v too high for the plates of JJ 6v6's in PP, cathode biased with a shared cathode resistor?
I don't want to swap the PT if its worth a try...

Mick Taylor's with Little Feat
Any ideas as to what he used for the solo in Apolitical Blues - the tone is
