Sidetrack question. Does dumblator adds gain and color to the sound? Planning to add that in my build. Thank you.

Re: Which ODS has better cleans?
Going by the layouts in the file section here is a quick down and dirty more notable things I notice The closest you will get to an AB-76 Blackface Clean sound and feel would be a Low Plate Classic (wDeep switch) This will give you that classic scooped low plate 100k slope .047 mid cap Fender tone ...

That's pretty interesting. I'll going to check this one out. Thank you.norburybrook wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 9:26 am with a strat the 100w Bluesmaster ODS without a doubt.
Stick the FET on a relay/footswitch as a clean boost or plug into the FET channel and you have a sparkly strat sound to die for![]()

Re: Which ODS has better cleans?
Thanks Phil. Maybe i should try the dumble 183. I like John Mayer cleans and i know that SSS is much more harder and expensive to make than ods. So I'll go with ODS.

Which ODS has better cleans?
Which of the dumble ods amp has better cleans for strat guitars? Leaning towards to a fendery blackface cleans. I want to build a 50watt ods or 20watt ods just for personal use.
I want to build ods and not fender because ods are more versatile amp in my opinion.

Re: Transformer Questions
You're welcome John. As I see it there are a couple of standard solutions to guitar amps when it comes down to transformers. 20 Watter: Deluxe (reverb) iron, 50 Watter: Bassman iron; 100 Watter: Twin iron. At least for Fender inspired builds. That includes Dumbles. Marshalls are a different kind he...

Re: Transformer Questions
340-0-340 @280mA is perfect for a 2x6L6 amp! Take any 4k or 4.2k 50W output transformer and you are set for the transformer. Pair it with a regular 4H choke. That being said, and I need to be honest here, you need to read more about power supply design. Start by studying the 2nd and 3rd gen Dumble ...

Re: Transformer Questions
Thank you for your replies. My current transformer here as of now is a 340-0-340v AC @ 280mA. Will this PT do the job or it is over or under? Thank you.
It will run in fixed bias circuit.
