I have built Liverpool and I would say you can get some of vox sound, however a quite narrow range as Liverpool is a high gain amp.
Rocket version of trainwreck series would be a real vox sounding amp.

Re: Rocket with 6V6s - Anyone built one?
Not really rocket but liverpool with 6v6s if you're interested. It is not just an express with 6v6s cause I ve'done it with lower voltages. I have a switch to change between 6v6s and el84s, therefore b+ is something like 320 volts. Especially 6v6s run hotter than usual in this scenario. In few words...

Re: which is better for lower volume cleans, Express or Liverpul
I built liverpool with two el84 and two 6v6 switchable. I use mine 90 percent of time at low volume, until I find a better usage for this other than playing at home. In my opinion both have excellent cleans, but with agressive touch to it, very responsive, quite bright although with control knobs an...

Re: liverpool with 6v6's?
I haven't seen many amps with two 6v6 in push pull with lower voltages, towards class A. If you are going for lower wattage out of two 6v6. Most amps of that kind, including wreck have plate voltage around 400 volts, this could be a sweet point for 6v6's in push pull. I will also try something like ...

Re: How important is layout to the TW tone?
In all layouts of wrecks and liverpools I've seen there is a common positioning of filter caps, alltogether located near power transformer. I wonder is it possible to get acceptably low hum level with typical bus grounding scheme with filter caps located in the area where they actually do their job ...
