Re: 'Dumble Lives On' Drew Berlin Premier Guitar interview

In my book there is no such thing as an expert claiming that he knows everything in his field. On the contrary, as soon as he starts to think that he knows everything he ceases to learn and starts to loose something of his expertise - when dealing with Dumble's stuff, especially ... precaution seems...

Re: Tweedle Dee 4 Filter caps or 3 ??

Thanks for the insights. You might as well edit your previous message to make the reading more seamless.

By the way, does anyone see what the tone cap is?

Re: Tube amp grounding article/info/links

Great. I'm glad I discovered that, but am I the only one puzzled by the "separate grounding" of the caps, as per

Re: Fibre board just say NO!!!

Could you measure something to explain the noise?

NB I'm asking not to confuse you, just for I am not sure about my board. I couldn't measure anything on it but I'm suspecting it anyway ... :?

Re: Chassis source feedback?

Sounds like the easiest fix would be to rivet the sides of a basic chassis... :?

By the way, I think I could read that the TT chassis is not just true to the dimensions of an original Dumble (maybe due to conversion of dimensions to metric ? )

Re: Isolating FWB (-) from other ground paths with a PT without CT (tube amp)?

With apologies for deviating from the original question ... :? minus poles after rectifier (anodes of diodes) should not be grounded to chassis! should go directly to negative terminal of the electrolytic cap! chassis in amp building need to be considered as if it were made of plastic, not connectin...

Re: Vox-style grillcloth patented | legal issues?

Dimarzio did it ... (or at least managed to... :? ) I meant how far from your country can you enforce trademark protection ? Not sure a lot of companies would manage to protect their trademark on the internal market of China, for example, plus from outside the US, US citizens appear to be fair...

Re: High-plate Skyline build

I drilled, cut and filed by hand and it was a hell of a lot of work but well worth it. I'm not sure if HAD used a CNC, looking at a few of the amps from that era, I suspect he took the same route as I did. You did it by hand ?!. I was convinced that you had a CNC milling machine. That is great work...

Re: Vox-style grillcloth patented | legal issues?

Attorneys, that's the word I was missing. They just threaten him. Well, I am not sure they would have been able to sue him, for he leaves outside UK and the brexit ... plus they don't seem to impress much US amp builders ... :?: @bepone : for example in France, it is illegal to run tuning parts for ...
