found parts
I found these in an electronics shop in the Lower East Side of NY. Not sure of the resistor types at the bottom.

Re: Stancor transformer
I picked up a choke - Hammond 194G. It's installed. I swear, if this amp works, I'm naming it Phil.

best rectifier tube for the cause
Ok, I found this bad boy at Tube Depot. The specs say it will drop the B+ voltage by 30 - 40 volts.

Re: Stancor transformer
Based on this document, it seems like a safe bet that the 5U4G or the GZ34 would be ideal. I'm still researching but, I feel that there's a solid foundation for the amp. The document details the specs and usage for the PT and OT I have. http://www.tubebooks.org/file_downloads/stancor_ul_schematics.pdf

Re: Stancor transformer
I mean, the amp this was in previously had a GZ34 in it. I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Stancor transformer
The GZ34 handles 5v, according to the JJ specs. Is that going to be an issue with this?

Switching gears
Thanks for all of the info, guys. After careful consideration, I am ditching the SR idea and going for the JTM 45 build. I figure if I'm going to be installing KT88s in the amp, I may as well go all out with a decent Marshall style. The OT specs show that it only has 8 and 16 ohm taps, which shouldn...

Re: Stancor transformer
Ok. Definitely getting the board and will be using kt66 tubes. I think I may go with a 5U4GB or the GZ34 for the rectifier tube. Thoughts? I'm figuring the KT66 tubes will handle the power based on the specs - 500 - 550v on both the plate and screen. Have to check the heater v.

Re: Stancor transformer
Very true. I was slowly coming to that realization about the SR. I was reading that the KT66 can handle a max of 550v for both plate and screen, which could work with this OT. I just have to find a board to go with it. Definitely up for the challenge!

Re: Stancor transformer
Both trannies came from an Oliver g150r with 7027a power tubes and a GZ34 rectifier. I believe the 7027a

Re: Stancor transformer
You guys are amazing. I'm sold. By the way, I obtained a pic of the transformer in its original amp. I believe this is the way it was connected.

zener trick
I saw a few things on it, one which showed two diodes and another which had four. Here's my interpretation.
