Ampeg used Electrical Windings but that's not to say they didn't use other transformers also. Ampeg was famous for changing circuits and also famous for sourcing parts from many different vendors.

The Hoffman layout uses 1K and 4.7K dropping resistors. Go with the original Fender AB763 values of 10K and 10K

It's not shielded because , as you deducted, it doesn't pass audio signal, it doesn't need to be and it's cheaper to use non shielded cable. No matter what cable you use, one end must be grounded to the jacks casing.

Hi. I'm new to this forum but have been a member on The Gear Page and the Vintage Amp Forum for quite some time. Here's a shot of my Martin 112 next to my DeArmond R15. Both are from late 1960.
