Re: Question About Velvet Flocking

How would you do it? What glue do you use? I have a '55 Guild Master amp that needs the grill cloth changed. It doesn't have the original. I was thinking, why not do it like the original. Getting together a sort of mask should be easy enough, like a stencil. Just have to match the font and conjure ...

Re: Univox U-45

I have the Realistic version of that amp, but with a 12" Jensen. It's a killer amp for low volume grind and I paid $175 for it. Check Fleabay and craigslist for Realistic and Lafayette guitar amps. They are Univoxes but sell for even less.

Re: Baffling Magnatone MP-1

Consider building a replacement cabinet. I recently picked up a mid sixties Guild Thunderbird amp and it is constructed of sawdust and glue too. I plan to build a cabinet for it as soon as I get moved into the new house.

Heavy AND fragile? Not fun!

Record Production Month

I'm taking another run at the RPM Challenge this year. You guys and gals have the goods and maybe this will push the other shy folks (like me) to generate some musical 1's and 0's. This is The Challenge - Record an album in 28 days, just because you can. That’s 10 songs or 35 minutes of original mat...

Re: Supro Amp brand relaunching in 2014

I was in a hotel recently where the sofa had a tweed covering that was a dead ringer for that Supro covering. I betcha you could order something "close enough" from a furniture recovering place.

Re: another schematic site

Looks like a direct copt of schematic heaven. They have the Guild Thunder 1 listed under the Supro section.

1956 Guild Masteramp

Cross posted from Let's Talk Guild Picked this one up from Kummers Vintage. I changed out the B+ filtercaps and subbed in caps for the cathode bypasses. Very interesting amp as it appears to predate the 66J and the 99-100J series of amps. It has no model ID anywhere on the amp, only "1366" on a piec...

Re: Guild Masteramp (Tweed?) Schematic Help

We got hacked last week. Apparently, vbulletin forums got hit pretty hard recently and the admin had a couple of people with unauthorized access.
try again in a couple of days, I guess.

Re: Guild Masteramp (Tweed?) Schematic Help

Link to a pristine masteramp with detailed gutshots over at LTG.

Unfortunately, the amp I got from Kummers isn't going to be much help. It looks identical to yours, but it has 6L6s and has the B+ living in a box on the cabinet floor...

Re: Guild Masteramp (Tweed?) Schematic Help

Finally was able to contact Timm. He did end up shipping the amp, but never sent me a tracking number or even a headsup email, for which he was profusely apologetic. Anyway, it's been sitting at Fedex Office since this Tuesday. I'll pick it up after work today and get some pics up.

Re: Guild Masteramp (Tweed?) Schematic Help

Guy can't seem to get the thing shipped. The check has been cashed, though. Flirting with the idea of telling him to just bring the damned thing to Arlington next week and having fedex office ship it to me from there.

Re: AMPEG AC-12

From what I heard, removing the negative feedback makes it the guitar version. Nice score!
