Maybe it was soldering that was bad there? When I put the different resistors I got it right? I don't know but the amp is doing very well. I have to learn more about electricity.
Thank you.

Re: Vox ac30cc2 mod volume loss
R6 and R7 are the plate resistors for V1 (Top Boost and Normal channels). I had put a 1 watt resistor in in each of those spots. I went to radio shack and got 1/2 watt 220k resistors and it came back to life! It's really an amazing sounding amp now. I still don't know a whole lot about working on am...

Working now
Hi,
It was the resistors that I put in there first...wrong ones. Now the amp works and I can use it for work now too! It's great...loud, thick, clean, unique!
Thanks you guys for your suggestions.

Re: Vox ac30cc2 mod volume loss
I used 1 watt carbon film 220k resistors. I've read to use 1/2 watt...could this result in volume loss?
Thanks

Re: Vox ac30cc2 mod volume loss
Could the value of the cap that I change in the effects loop cause a drop in volume? I re-soldered the cap and even put the second just case cap that I got and it is still missing a lot of volume.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Vox ac30cc2 mod volume loss
Hello, Thank you for responding to this. I have played guitar for 38 years or so but the tube amp interest just began a few years ago. I always had someone do the work for me because I had no time...too much guitar! I check the voltage and it's fine...I'll look at what I did in the effects loop. Whi...

Volume loss
I wanted to point out that I have to turn the volume on all three volumes all the way up just to get about 1/4 of what it used to be like. I can't play live because it's not loud enough now...bummed. I tried different power tubes and it was still very low volume. I have Weber copper rectifier and tr...

Vox ac30cc2 mod volume loss
Hi, I completed the modification that many folks recommended and my amp lost a lot of volume-here's what I did: From L. Cadwell. After these changes the amp sound great but I lost a lot of volume. Which of these changes could have caused this? If I undo one or more of the mods do you think I'll get ...
