Were the F&T caps faulty?
How did the new caps work out?
I find this a puzzling problem since presumably the filter cap didn’t run that hot before. My initial guess would be a faulty cap maybe having its voltage overrated or some internal short or something.

The 50 watter I am trying to build will already be too much amp but still excited to give it a go.

I really tried hard to find a DR103/504 chassis here in the U.S. but I had no luck. Sorry.
