to adress the low volume problem... could be impeidence mis-match with the OT. what kind of transformers are you running? also double check values of every resistor.

MV problem

I have had a few issues with that design myself. one thing is it is not grounded... I switched over to the style you can see on the Weber amps site "java" model.... it is quieter, safer and grounded as well... I belive you can trace this MV design back to early 70's Orange amps or maybe even as far ...

you are correct!!!! right now it goes , first position is off, then 47pf, 100pf, 250pf, 370pf and 500 pf. Works good!!!! i got the idea from the old 70's orange amps and matamp of the 60's

:D I put in a 6 way rotary switch ...so you can go from47pf,100pf,250pf,370pf,500pf with position 1 being left open ... this way I can cover any guitar and pickup combination.... its all true bypass ..its simple and you never have to wonder what it might sound like if i just had one more cap!
