LeftyStrat wrote:You can order them from Mouser.com and they'll probably cost less than shipping. The mouser website can be daunting, but if you post the markings we can probably help you find them.
Again, thanks for the help, Lefty, with a noob ... Afterall, I'm a Biologist, not an Engineer!

Re: PCB Repair

Ok, will do. Yes, have a good fluke multimeter with uF (so that's what that's for :) ),

Thanks very much for the tips. Very helpful.

If radio shack does not have, can you recommend a good online (searchable website) source?

Re: PCB Repair

I might start with the easiest and most like to fail, those three electrolytic caps. They should be marked with their capacitance and voltage rating. Those caps are almost thirty years old. You may even be able to find replacements at Radio Shack. Unsolder them and put in replacements being sure to...

Re: PCB Repair

Why do you think it's the board and not a sensor, wiring, corrosion, etc...? It's difficult to see from the picture, but is that a cracked track by the red arrow below? It might be worth re-flowing all the connections in any case if you haven't got anything to lose :-/. I've checked all sensors, wi...

Re: PCB Repair

Got a photo of the damage? No "damage" that I can see. Nothing obviously burned, top or bottom - And I checked the solders on the back. Problem is supposed to be some of the connections for the green connector crack, but again, I checked them with a multitester, though I'm really a novice at this s...

Re: PCB Repair

Well, it's a simple PCB (for emissions control) from a mid-80s Toyota. Part is long discontinued ... I'm asking here because the Toyota forums have no idea. Since I used to collect Tube Amps for 78 rpm record playback, I thought this would be a better place to find a source... :) Just looking for a ...
