Re: teaser of a new amp

Very nice, Josh-Just one q. Not that I see a lot of need for them, but how does this design respond to input from outboard effects-either rackmount, multi, or stomp? Also- the "Re*velization" process on your speakers has a phenominal impact on the overall tone! Have you, or are you, used/using hemp-...

Re: Problems with website?

The postings sometimes give me the "Server not found -Work-offline?" page but the posting has actually been made. Like you ,I thought it probably had to do with the uplink, or excessive traffic- may be a bug though. Good site, Omar, Thanks for all your hard work!

As a 59 year old ex rock and roll star wannabe who has had the (?) pleasure of actually shaking the hand that soldered an actual!! Dumble Overdrive Special together, IMHO something else would be a much nicer experience to wish for- like maybe a colonoscopy without any drugs, or a sharp stick poked i...

One other question: Where would one find a 6-position rotary switch, if desired? I'm having a hard time locating one... Just a tip for that switch-- Try Allparts at allparts.com..... If you are a bona fide business they will sell to you at 1/2 the listed retail price. PM me if you need a hand with i...

Re: Bassman 10 build.....Better late than never!

Having modded more than a few Bassman's in the past, the "Ten" was never a favorite because of the small OT. It is different iron than any other Bassman used. Any of the better replacements are fine- the original will almost definitely come up lacking in the tone department. W*b*r has several differ...

Re: HELP!!! Amp chassis stuck in the box - what to do?

Just opened this thread- A common problem with Fenders, Music-Man , etc.. A wide piece of thin (16 or 18 guage) sheet metal of any kind can usually be inserted front to rear while being kept fairly flat to the top of the cabinet and then worked back and forth slowly as the chassis is removed. I have...

Re: Interesting Reverb, and a question

Bob-I the sam issue here as on the thread on the ECL -86 reverb amp (the Royale -reverb) Most of the ECL series of tubes are triode/pentode combined (I haven't researched the entire series,so cannot vouch that all are). The main differences between them are: 1) Pin-out , 2) Gain , 3) Interstage capa...

Re: An issue with the ECL86 reverb amp. Help

Bob I-- Been making the same old mistakes myself for around 40 years- they bought me books and sent me to school, and I'm still not worth the powder to blow me to *e*l. Every once in awhile I get it right though. Glad I could help. By the way- did you check out the similarity in the amp you are buil...

Re: An issue with the ECL86 reverb amp. Help

Sorry- I should have been more concise- the pinoout is correct for ECL86, componet values are correct for ECL83-pin-out for ECL83 is different as are voltage and load requirements- enough so that it would cause problems. Are you using an 86 or an 83? Also, try using the artificial ground trick for t...
