Ampeg PT wiring
Guys I recently got an Ampeg PT I want to use in another build. It’s from a Gemini 1 from the 60’s. I found a schematic and it shows the black and red/black are ac in. The two reds are B+ to the rectifier. The green and red/green are the heaters… Problem is there is still an unused white wire…not on...

Re: I seek guidance...new build.
Cxx Thats what I thought. Tone stack is fender Princeton. Funny part is i thought this as gonna be a no brainer! It’s basically a Princeton front end into a Deluxe PI and output section cathode biased. I guessing now should have looked more carefully at the PT I used as voltage seems way more that t...

Yes that looks like the place to start to reduce gain. I see that done on some other designs.
Maybe I should have gone with one stage! Thanks

So sounds like a bigger cathode resistor is needed...

Sure doesn’t seem like it but I’d have to get my scope out and check this...a whole other situation! Haven’t used it in ages...

Yup big resistor, I’ll do up a schematic shortly but a 22k to PI and a 10k to the V1.

I seek guidance...new build.
Gentlemen, I've built 5 amps with help from here, 3 TW, 2 Marshall and all have run great, sound great! I decided to put together a small amp for practicing and trying pedals out with. Simple two gain stage, vol/tone control/ LTPPI and two 6V6. Cathode biased. Both stages are 100K, 1.5K/10uf, .022 c...

Re: JTM 50 Really Loud!
Agree!
My Liverpool is way loud. Also really nails the Brian May tone and sustain. It’s a one trick pony but boy what a trick, love it.
Hope to run a two amp setup at some point with a LeLe A/B Y switch...Rocket and a Liverpool!

Re: JTM 50 Really Loud!
Miles, Can’t believe there’s a Van Heflin reference here, so funny. No one knows him I’m sure... Mark I think that choke was supposed to go in a Vox AC50 build but it got dumped so I used it in the JTM 50. I got the blue boards from some of your early builds. In fact my favorite amp is a 2 x EL84 ro...

CJ 11 build question
Guys
Anyone build the CJ11 amp? Looking it over what's with all the cold biased stages?
Two are 3.3K and the 3rd is a 4.7K...
Most Fenders I looked at are easy 1.5K biased.
Are those correct??

Sir, you're saying add this MV after the CF before the tone stack with no clippers! Yeah looks pretty easy...
Thanks...

Re: JTM 50 Really Loud!
Norbury I built a model 1987 20watt 6v6 combo too. That little bugger is also loud, but a different sound from the JTM 50. The plexi 20 watt has a switch to bypass V2a with a cap so that adds to the crunch there. Plus the 1987 had split cathode for V1 and I parallel the channels with separate volume...
