Re: Turn Bassman into Super Reverb?

Hey G...whaz up?

There ain't nothing like my all original '64 AA864 Bassman. It's an unbeatable circuit and it does the BF clean thing rather...umm....well.

6L6's into a 4 ohm cab or sub in some JJ 6V6s to bump it up to 8 ohms. ONLY JJ's though!!

Re: A Trainwreck Thread

I'm now convinced that TGP has been spoofed. It isn't as funny as a Rip Glitter review, but I think it is an elaborate joke. warble dropped a small number of clues...like knowing rocket scientists who've won an Emmy. Absolutely nowhere does he claim to be an engineer, yet some people went off assum...

Re: Ordered a BlueMonkey in March 09 - Still didn't get it

Toh220, Bummer to hear about the long wait. I had quite a wait (22 kit) as well but certainly not 8 months. My feeling is Moss should just be upfront and say, "This is probably going to take a long time....I am very back logged but I'll get it to you when I can"...instead of the (hate to say it) run...

Just go with long thru bolts with star washers to lock the nuts down.

Re: tolex is not my friend

Per the "black" staples; Believe it or nay, the indelible ink in a Sharpie, black of course, does a great job on the staples under minimal scrutiny. A single coat kinda turns black/grey not black. But it's a perfect shade for black Tolex's in most positions as it doesn't let the staple reflect ligh...

Re: tolex is not my friend

Lot of good info guys. And just for something a little different.... In the future, for a challenge you might want to try doing corners like I do them..ala Komet. They take a while to get down but are sure attractive and draw a lot of positive attention. My amps certainly fall into the "must be bab...

Re: tolex is not my friend

Thanks for the compliments.

Yes, the channels are cut at 45 degrees. Cutting these mitres in 18mm box jointed material poses little compromise in structural integrity. I wouldn't be as confident with thinner stock though.

Re: Ceriatone Overtone Special gut pics

You should really have 220K in front of that 100K trimmer, not 120 K. Fixed  Another consideration. While 124 had a 250K Level control, I tried it and much prefer the more traditional 100KL control instead. S/N 124 was a great sounding amp, but there was nothing refined about it, the amp was ...

Re: What is this?

The black electrical tape that turns into a sticky mess after a few gigs is a nice touch. I HATE that stuff. Masking tape is almost as bad.

Re: Ironsounds Loop findings

Interesting, I put one in my D'lite and it is quiet as can be. I tried putting another one in an 18 watt TMB just for fun but I got terrible white noise which I couldn't track down a cause so ripped it out.
