Re: SD60 build completed! Clip...
Apparently Friedman designed some part of a Naylor amp or two(can't remember the specifics) . This schematic was traced by someone that had a Naked, traced it, and I imagine the SD60 scheme was used to show the similarities. I think that's how the story goes. I've never played a Naked, but I'm curr...

Re: SD60 build completed! Clip...
I'm thrilled you played "Where Eagles Dare"! Nice work. Concerning this amp, the presence, and the dual 500K pots are the magic. They make it thick as fuck. It's very articulate with the small caps, and bold withe the NFB/Presence. If you take these things away, well then it sounds like a marshalll ...

Naylor SuperDrive 60 Build
I was inspired to build the amp after listening to Jag Tanna who is the guitarist for a band called I Mother Earth. Guy is a phenomenal guitarist and his tone is simply amazing. Incredibly expressive in his playing, and he has a finger plucking/ slap technique which ive never heard anyone else do. A...

Re: SuperDrive 60 build blows fuses when turned on from standby
Thanks for the reply! I isolated the center tap and all is well. It was grounded between the the two 220uF caps like the PT manufacturer instructed but was obviously shorting to ground. Silly Me!

SuperDrive 60 build blows fuses when turned on from standby
Hey everyone! Ive completed a Naylor SD 60 build and am having some issues with the power section. When I flip to standby, everything is fine - proper voltages in the bias circuit and heater circuit with a healthy glow in the pilot light. However when I flip to On, the pilot light dims and the 3 amp...

Re: Naylor SD60 style build
Couple more things Darin:
What specs did you use for the choke?
Are you liking the orange drops for the circuit?
Any hum or noise with your layout?
Thanks man

Re: Naylor SD60 style build
Congrats!
What are your impressions? If you could post a video or sound clip I'd love to check it out. Any alterations to the circuit?
BTW Rhinson is sold out of iron:( I'm checking Hammond for compatibility.
Great job!

Re: Any Naylor Superdrive love?
[quote="rhinson"]i've built several naylor sd60 type amps. (both the pre 96 and post 96 circuits). i have a few transformer sets to build these if anyone here is interested. i like the pre 96 circuit a lot, but both are good. i also add a a switch for an extra parallel treble cap for more upper mids...
