Re: First build ODS clone

Thanks guys, this is exactly what I've been looking for! I've desided to go for a Hybrid-A type amp, and lately I've been converting Ben Sheltons drawing https://tubeamparchive.com/download/file.php?id=597 into a Visio layout. I think it's based on one of the Hybrid-A shematics found here: https://t...

Re: For the new builders

Thanks again, great tips. But I want to make shure I understand things right before I start, 1. I want to go for the Hybrid A with no reverb or loop. But the overdrive is still there? 2. Is there any schematic with the reverb and loop removed, or is that easy enought for me to do myself? 3. How big ...

Re: For the new builders

Hm, looks like it would be just as easy to follow the hybrid schematic and maybe test things as I go along. Thanks, Christian Btw, got a chance to talk to Mike Stern today, he was giving a clinic at the local jazz festival. It was my first time talking to a guitarist of that caliber, althought it wa...

Re: For the new builders

This is one of the best posts I've read, and I've been reading every other day for the last month or so. I've been looking for a sort of A-B-C, wondering what order to do things in, finally found some answers! I also like that you encourage us newbies to build and be merry, to try things out and ask...

Baritone guitar on Dumble amps

How would a baritone guitar sound on a dumble amp? Have anyone tried that?

Thanks,
Christian

Re: Model guide

Thanks for the tips, always nice to hear what more experienced builders say. Yes, this is my first amp, but I'm not new to electronics as I'm studying for a masters degree. I've build and soldered stuff many times before, but not as big and complex as a tube amp so I will try to take precautions. I'...

Re: Model guide

Found this: https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=892 but I can't see the picture. Is this the right one, and if so does anybody have a working url?

Looking forward to starting my first build, just need to stort some more details out and I'll be on my way.

Thanks,
Christian

Re: Model guide

Seems like the Hybrid-A might be the place to start, as it's recommended by many. Normsters layout seems to be popular. Somebody wouldn't happen to have a parts list?

Thanks,
Christian

Model guide

Hi, I was wondering if someone would like to make a quick guide to the different Dumble models, show the main differences, evolutions, pros/cons, if they're harder/easier to build etc. As a newbie I've read about all these models and names, but I known little about what they mean. It's hard to sort ...

Re: First build ODS clone

Thanks, this helps quite a bit! Found this: https://tubeamparchive.com/download/file.php?id=394 , does anybody know how incomplete this is, and which layout/schematic it belongs to? Any tips on the first couple of things I need to do before I start building? I'm finding it hard to known where to beg...

Re: First build ODS clone

I have been reading quite alot of the posts and it seems to me that the most of you have a donor amp or a amp that you mod. In the start I was thinking that I would be able to find or make a list of the parts and components and then just order the most of it. Was I wrong? What's the best way to star...

Re: First build ODS clone

Thanks for the tips. It's not very important that it'a ODS, I'll read some more and see if I can find a more suitable first build. I'm not in a hurry, and I'm open to your inputs.

Thanks,

First build ODS clone

Hi! I'm totally new to building and modding amps, so I have a few questions: 1) Where do you get the parts, and how much would an ODS clone cost when building it from scratch? 2) Is it at all possible for an inexperienced builder as myself to build a clone? I'm studying electronics, so I can read ba...
