Even if the caps look fine, they might still be dried out or failing. Same goes for resistors, especially plate or screen resistors. Swap out your tubes if you haven’t already, especially the power and phase inverter ones

Adding a cap to the changed "cold clipper" resistor that gets changed to a 3.3k or 2.7K will add noise. try removing it and see what happens. I had the same problem when I did the JEL mod. Don't be afraid to put some stuffing in there if you are playing faster/tighter things to take the R1 reflection down a couple decibels (or more) as well. If you want to match your current V30, check the speaker label or frame for a “Made in UK” or “Made in China” stamp, that’ll tell you the origin. UK-made V30s tend to sound a bit smoother and more mid-forward, while Chinese ones can be a touch brighter and harsher when new
