Wow, what a beautiful amp build. I hope to someday be able to build something a fraction of that quality.
If you don't mind me asking, what are the two small green circuit boards near V1/V2 and the PT?

Hey Thanks 10thTx,
That sounds like it should be the one.

Re: Good PT for 5E3 type build with 5881?
Hi Tubeswell, Hi 10thtx, Thanks for the replies... Yeah I forgot to say that I'm going to want some tube rectifier sag, and that I'm hoping to get around 350V with a 5Y3 and then experiment with other rectifiers for some higher voltages (under 400v). I saw on the allen amps site that they have a PT ...

Good PT for 5E3 type build with 5881?
Hi, I have some extra parts, and I'm thinking of putting a 5E3 build in a Valve Junior boxand chassis. I have a vibrolux OT and a 4 ohm cabinet. I'm not really looking for it to be much louder than a stock 5E3, but I'm thinking that with a 6L6/5881 (or possibly EL34) type tube the amp may have a bit...

Yes, that's the name...GREAT GUITARIST. It's too bad that video is gone.
To me, it demonstrated a tone that I didn't think someone could get from a Dumble style amp

Re: Primary impedance OT question
Hi, I didn't from my question very well. I've read that some output transformers are available with multiple primary taps. In the same amp with the B+ being more or less the same, and assuming that the tube are biased pretty much the same, how would switching from a 4K tap to a 6.6K tap effect the s...

Looking for a Youtube clip Dlite bluesmaster and strat?
There was a great clip posted on you tube a few years back with someone (I believe an L.A. based amp tech) playing awesome country-fied blues licks on a real 50's strat through what I think was a Brown note bluesmaster. It's the only "D" type amp demo that I've seen/heard with that kind of a sound. ...

Primary impedance OT question
What effect does the primary impedance have on bass/treble/break-up/headroom? In the same amp with all other things being sort-of equal, what would be the expected difference in tone using a 4K primary vs 5K3 vs 6K6? Also, I've read that Matchless Amps used "output transformer mis-matching" in order...

Re: Budda twinmaster?
I tried posting before, but I messed up the post. I'm a big fan of the Twinmaster. I'll tell you what I thint that I know: EL 84's are cathode biased. The first preamp tube uses one triode in the "normal" input, and adds the extra triode when using the "hi gain" input (sort -of like a JCM800 1st and...
