Re: Schematic and parts list for DC heater supply?
I’ve tried this before with a Dumble style amp. I wasn’t ever able to get a quieter sounding DC heater method until I regulated the supply. The rectifier with a lot of capacitance still had ripple that injected noise into the system. Adding a regulator makes a dead quite supply and amp. However, the...

Re: 18 watt blues jr conversion
I've done two 18watt TMB conversions on blues jrs. They came out great. I put a Mercury Magnetics OT in my personal one and really like it .

Re: geetarpicker video/sound bytes
When is the Dallas show? I just moved here (Las Colinas) from Albuquerque. Been building Dumble style stuff and finally decided to check out the TW stuff the other day. Now I want to build one. Just need one more amp I guess. I also stumbled across Glen's youtube stuff the other day. Man what a play...

Re: 66 Rocker - AKA 66 Rocket ...Eventually the 66 Rockster
RJ nice work. Have you checked how much power you are dissipating from the different tubes? I’ve done cathode biased before and found a resistor value may make the KT66 and EL34s sound sweet, but running 6V6 and 6L6s requires a different value to get them to sound good. How is New Mexico? I just mov...

Congrats Henry. Cool site too. You're building for some real players. I'm a big Tommy Castro fan.

Re: First time mounting these relays...tips?
bcook- That looks like a great solution. I bought a board from a member on this site about 4 months ago that is clean and works like a charm. But the R Shack board looks like an easy purchase when in a pinch. I agree with you, I've tried the turret/eyelet way and just seem to struggle and get frustr...

I'm still in for the cabinet, chassis and boards. Giving serious thought to your OT as well. What do you recommend for the PT?

Re: Scratching my head with a warmed up amp blowing fuses
Well, feeling kind of silly, but I discovered I had a fast-blo fuse in. Put in a slo-blo and everything is good so far. I did the light bulb test and didn’t see anything funny. The bulb is bright on power up but then dims. Light gets slightly brighter when the SB switch is thrown. Hopefully it was j...

Re: Scratching my head with a warmed up amp blowing fuses
heistl - Thanks for the thoughts. I am using series caps for the first 2 B+ nodes. The caps are 47uF/450v with 470k/2w balancing resistors. B+ is 461v so there is 230v across each cap. I've confirmed this with the DVM and the caps are installed properly. What really confuses me is that it only happe...
