Thanks Ian, that explains a lot. Yeah hitch, I already try the coupling caps and they didn't help at all. Do you guys think that putting a big resistor (say 10 watt, 1k) between the B+ supply and the choke would at least tame down the screen voltage to the tubes enough that they wouldn't red plate a...

thanks man, do any of you guys know anything about the cathodyne PI? My understanding is that it's supposed to be more balanced than the LTP but for some reason it's not when I crank mine.
